STUPID DRAMA is the brainchild of critically acclaimed 12 string acoustic guitarist, NATHAN OLIVAREZ.  The band is formed with some of the world's best players, performing some of the most powerful acoustic rock that can be heard anywhere. NATHAN’s dynamic songwriting and unique vocal stylings have him voted Best Acoustic Guitarist for several years in the Austin Chronicle's Reader's poll awards. NATHAN is constantly writing and touring with some of the best music veterans available in the world. All while mesmerizing audiences everywhere and as one local critic writes, “The shows must be seen to be believed!”

Holding down the low end for OLIVAREZ' powerful style of acoustic rock is former Atlantic recording artist TOM COYNE. At an early age, “TOMMY” started playing in the New York progressive, jazz rock scene and caught the eye of Mahavishnu Orchestra’s, Billy Cobham. Tom says jokingly, “I was a wide eyed kid not wanting to embarrass myself in front of Stanley Clarke or Al Di Meola, so I learned very quickly what not to do.” When asked to step in and cover bass guitar for STUPID DRAMA, Tom says, “Of course I will play, these songs are fun as well as challenging." Tom is also in demand as a session player as well as Producer/Engineer for his own progressive metal band.  

Now to say that STUPID DRAMA is becoming a "live band phenomenon" would be an understatement. With the addition of DAVID SWANSON, shows have elevated to an art of showmanship and precision. Upon a referral from Grammy Award nominated Producer/Engineer, TIM GERRON, the three started working on NSD'S extensive catalogue as well as working on new songs for the follow-up to the critically acclaimed KADABA.  Says GERRON, “it would be a good challenge for you as your styles would fit very well."  "I really dig these odd time signatures and now I am very excited to make these songs my own”, Swanson says with his signature cocky swagger.
